How do I connect jumper cables?
Jumper cables need to be connected properly to avoid sparks and to avoid critical damage to expensive electronic components.
Connect the positive clamp to the positive terminal of the healthy batter, and the other positive clamp to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
Next, connect the negative terminal on the good batter and lastly the negative clamp to the engine block, frame, or other grounded metal as far as possible from the battery. Do not connect it to the ground terminal.
